God Means What He Says: A Biblical Critique of the Framework Hypothesis
by Tim Chaffey (68 pages)
In this booklet, Tim examines the Framework Hypothesis, a relatively recent interpretation of the early chapters of Genesis. While many people do not recognize the name of this view, they have likely heard many of the arguments. Essentially, the Framework Hypothesis attempts to reclassify the Genesis narrative as being poetic in nature so that one does not interpret it literally. In the end, the Framework Hypothesis turns Genesis into a sort of divine Aesop's Fable - the details of Genesis 1 don't really matter, as long as you believe God created. Tim takes aim at the sophisticated arguments presented by Framework proponents and examines them in light of Scripture. This booklet was originally written as a Masters' level thesis so it is a bit on the technical side. Nevertheless, it is still very readable and is a great complement to Old-Earth Creationism on Trial.
